THE REDDING RATTLERS

Our Philosophy
We believe in developing well-rounded baseball players who not only grow in skill but also in their love for the game. Our focus is on teaching strong fundamentals, teamwork, and respect for the sport, without sacrificing the joy of being a kid. We encourage our athletes to explore other sports and activities, understanding that diverse experiences build better athletes and happier, more balanced individuals. Baseball should never feel like a job, especially at the youth level. Our goal is to help young players improve, compete, and fall in love with the game while still being free to enjoy all the moments that make childhood special.
Baseball is more than just a game, it’s a powerful teacher of life’s most important lessons. Every at-bat, every error and every victory provides young players with the chance to learn resilience, patience, and perseverance. This game teaches that failure is not something to fear but an essential part of growth. Striking out, making an error or losing a tough game all offer opportunities to learn humility, accountability and determination. These experiences build character and confidence that extend far beyond the diamond, helping players navigate challenges both on and off the field. In baseball, as in life you can do everything right and still fail. Success comes from learning, adapting, and never giving up.
Our Promise
As a youth baseball organization, we are committed to developing skilled, confident, and healthy athletes the right way. Do we want to win? Absolutely, that's why we keep score, but we want to win the right way. Our top priorities are player development and safety, we take great care to protect young arms and bodies from overuse and injury. We emphasize proper mechanics, age-appropriate training and balanced workloads to ensure that every player can grow and enjoy the game for years to come. Our coaches focus on long-term development, teaching smart preparation and recovery. This approach will lead to wins on and off the field now as well as down the road. We will never risk the health of a player to win a game or a tournament for a $3 ring. If your favorite professional whose only job is to train for pitching isn't throwing 150 pitches in a game every week then why would 11 year old Timmy whose body is still developing?
We want our players to play in high school, college and professionally. That can never happen if they are having Tommy John surgery because they throw 150 pitches every weekend for 9 months out of the year. We understand that in sports injuries happen, but in baseball there is an epidemic of arm injuries that are mostly avoidable and we intend to do everything we can to a part of the solution, not a part of the problem, even if it costs our program wins. Our goal is to develop every single player on the team and not rely on and abuse one or two arms to make the organization "look better".
As an organization we want to promote a healthy balance between participating in competitive sports, home life and allowing for your child to not feel like baseball is a job at an early age. We want to teach strong fundamentals, proper mechanics, a resilient mindset that will not only help in baseball, but in life as well, self discipline, work ethic, comradery, being a part of something bigger than their self, learning to put team before me. Our organization is not just about baseball. It's about life. Every single player in our organization will be an adult and on their own someday, and we want to help prepare them for the next level, because this world needs great men. There's no better sport in the world to help mold men than baseball!
